BP

BP have spent huge amounts of money over the last few years re-branding themselves as being committed to the environment in order to appeal to environmentally aware consumers.  This to me seems like an abject waste of time and money.  The pretty white and yellow logo can’t detract from the fact that they are a dirty oil producing company and an unethical one at that, neither can it shield people from reading the news.  I bring this up because once again BP are in the papers for unethical practises.  The Independent reports that they are being charged $303 million over price fixing the propane gas market – again.  BP may be investing in solar power, but certainly do not deserve to be considered an ethical company, the environmentalist group Greenpeace commented on their re-branding which I think it says it all: “This is a triumph of style over substance. BP spent more on their logo this year than they did on renewable energy last year.” Quite the opposite to Seventeen who pride themselves in delivering events with style, substance and sustainability – sorry couldn’t resist that!
