Our work: UK Best Workplaces Awards

The UK Best Workplaces Awards is an annual event which aims to reward organisations who have shown best practice in HR and leadership. The rundown of the top 50 UK’s best workplaces included The Co-operative Group, Danone and Microsoft.

The Challenge

Seventeen have worked with the Great Place to Work Institute on previous awards and conferences and have gained a strong understanding of their aims and ideals. The brief was to create an evening event hosting 350 guests which would celebrate the top 50 companies and their key stakeholders. The objective was to create a fun and light hearted evening of celebration which was memorable and rewarding for guests.

The solution

We controlled all aspects of delegate management for the event including collating RSVPs, receiving payments and devising table plans. We took an active role in sourcing a venue that would reflect the criteria of the brief and the Institute’s values. We chose the historic surroundings of Plaisterers’ Hall, a grand & traditional venue which stood out as a unique choice.

On arrival, guests were greeted with a champagne reception and entertained by a roving magician and silhouette cutter. Electric violinists performed on stage during the awards providing a stunning soundtrack for the evening. As part of our sustainability policy we ensured all the food was seasonal and locally sourced, using free range chicken for the main course.

Other sustainable measures introduced included a reusable stock stage set, reusable branded backdrops, British seasonal flowers and 100% recycled print materials.

The results

The client was delighted with our professional approach and the event was praised as a huge success by Great Place to Work. The event was also compliant with the BS8901 standard for sustainable event management. We look forward to working with The Great Place To Work Institute throughout 2010 and beyond.
