ISO20121 is an international standard for sustainable event management. It offers a framework for all events, from a car boot sale to the Olympics, and allows event managers, suppliers and venues to track their sustainability and benchmark their progress. It was originally launched as BS8901 in November 2007. The standard is a major step forward in making events in the UK more sustainable. It’s not a quick or easy rubber stamp, but neither should it be intimidating or stressful.
Seventeen Events were members of the UK mirror committee which wrote the new internationally recognised system, ISO20121. We have created an online tool, eventberry, for event organisers, venues and suppliers who wish to manage their compliance to ISO20121.
